Bullet points.
This could be short or could be long. I don’t know.
1) Racism. I‘ve seen some discussion on the subject in KCL. All it takes is one human being who is different than another and BOOM you have potential for conflict. Education is the only way to solve racism.
2) Straight A’s continue for Jovana, our exchange student. The kid should be an engineer. Unfortunately, they have no use for Engineers in her country. Engineers, Physicians and Lawyers are not well paid in Montenegro.
3) Kelly has been pounded with snow these last couple of weeks. Friday and Saturday they are getting 15-26 inches of snow after having snow all week up in DC. Folks, we are from the beach where the snow never goes…It has officially freaked her out.
4) Me? Oh I have completely lost my mind. I had two rentals come vacant at the end of January. One is rented already (Wonderful turn around and picked up 45 more bucks a month in rents.) The other? I should have it ready to show in the next two weeks. Those folks were not the cleanest humans on the planet. I will pick up an extra 45.00 bucks in rent there as well. Lots of work. Many long nights!!!
5) Nurse Ratchet? Um, her mentor and old physician co-worker passed away suddenly about 2 weeks ago. He died of a massive heart attack. They worked together the day before he passed. She has cried everyday since. Not pretty. Actually, I have never seen her depressed. She is CRUSHED.
6) My brother is working with one of the producers of Lady GaGa on some music tracks. They both went to Berklee together. Frankly, this is his big break. The downside? My brother is a monster in the studio. In fact, he has his own studio in his house. Killer. We are having a divorce party for him on the 8th!!! It is official.
7) My little sister? I love her. She is just back from a business trip to Atlantic City. She was excited. Me? You can keep Atlantic City. She has already fallen off the wagon on her running and diet.
Hopefully, I can fix my golf cart tonight or tomorrow. I snapped a strut off jumping some dunes awhile back. Were we out of control? Yes. Was it fun? That cart should be outlawed.
9) Superbowl? I see the Saints winning it unless Peyton Manning gets red hot.
10) I miss you all very much. I still read you but have not logged on to comment or write. I think that status will be consistent for awhile.
Peace be with you,
Bobby

I know, I have been taking these crazy long breaks between posts. Heck, I post 2 places. I do make sure I click ads over at Keepconnectedlive just to keep my buddy Matt in business. Great place to post if you have never been. Small community but fantastic members.
I am gearing up for some really big changes in the next couple of weeks. I am looking forward to disclosing these changes to you once they occur; unfortunately I am in a quiet period for the next few weeks.
New Years was absolutely nuts. We had folks over and then we did the mobile party thing on my golf cart. In fact, we blew up so many firecrackers the cops came looking for us.
Factoid.
Life has been absolutely crazy around here.
We did manage to have a bunch of fun snow tubing and skiing the weekend of New Years. The mountain house is quiet and so serene.
I am around and I see you journals. I will comment when time permits. I think I’ll go for a run on the beach. I know, its 28 degrees outside. It is sunny and calm however…..
Peace be with you,
Bobby

Today?

Today is absolutely gorgeous. Low 60’s at night and low 80’s during the day. Water temps are still hovering around 74 degrees. Fall is coming in slowly!!! Hooray!
Sense of humor? Oh yes. I still have my whacked out sense of humor.
What have I been doing lately? Well…You know those mortars you buy in South Carolina? I have taken to riding around on my golfcart, stopping and firing one off and moving on to the next location. They are beautiful I want to add but it scares the neighbors….Normally, I can fire off 3 or 4 rounds before someone complains.
My golf cart is now a mobile mortar launcher!!!
Four wheelin’ on the beach is something we do several times a week during the fall winter and spring. We get absolutely retarded in that stupid golf cart. RETARDED!!!! Come to think of it I am retarded with everything I drive…
Lifting weights and running? Yes, I still am thank you for asking. My speed on distance runs has betrayed me. Aww heck, my speed has betrayed me across the board who am I kidding?!
No more heart episodes. I’ll be happy to put that behind me forever if I can.
it is official. The Redskins absolutely stink. I am prepared for a long ugly season. All I can say is thank God it is soccer season around the rest of the world!!!! I mean who loses to the Lions? (Say REDSKINS!!!)
Put a hair gizzy or rubber band around your kitchen sink sprayer (Thus keeping it on) and aim it where someone would turn on the faucet. Get’s ‘em everytime!!! Love Love love that trick!!!! Works best at Thanksgiving or Christmas!! Getting your dad on a Sunday morning before church scores triple points.
Tell ‘em Fiju-Fic sent ya.
Peace be with you,
Bobby

I worked in the lawn and flower beds for two hours after work last night. I don’t mind the high heat and humidity. It comes with the territory. Tonight I’m going over to one of my properties and clearing some overgrowth with a machete after my workout. Believe it or not this is a lot of fun.
You can bank on me jumping in the water afterwards.
Saturday and Sunday? Oh you and I both know I will get my chores done early because we are going to the beach. My Sister is in Frisco this weekend (A village on Hatteras Island) and she will let me know if the surf is up early that morning. If it is, I see myself going down there and spending the night.
Of course if the bay is flat and glassy then I’ll stay home and ride the jetski. I feel like taking a long trip on that thing for some odd reason. Crazy golf cart rides will rule the evening I am sure if I stay home.
Sunday we have some friends coming over to grill some elk meat once we leave the beach. I have never had it and I am looking forward to trying it.
Now that my brother is seperated/divorcing his very cruel wife, we see more and more of him. I think he is coming over with my niece tonight. I do my very best to never say anything negative.
For the sake of honesty she is consumed with anger (just in general) and it has made her a very ugly human being both inside and out. She has let it run unchecked in her life and makes sport of turning it on herself and others. Her anger is an awful curse.
I view my anger as a gift. It motivates me to be a better person. You can harness its energy to do so many positive things. Don’t dwell on it. Recognizing it is 100% of the battle.
See you on the beach. (Hopefully in a good mood).
Oh and for those of you who don’t swim; get on over to the pool and take some lessons already!!!
Sheesh….
Peace,
Bobby

Summer Hours & Growing pains

Summer is here and of course I am in my glory. I see my writing slowing down considerably as life gets in the way of my thoughts.
We watched Kelly graduate with honors last Friday. Party at my house of course.
In fact, my home was party central throughout Memorial day weekend and at one point I was running two grills. I’m exhausted.
I managed to bring the Seadoo on the water both Saturday and Sunday. It gets a little tricky with two broken fingers I will confess.
Now that there are more residents in our neighborhood, people are getting weird about rules and beach etiquitte. I imagine I have broken almost every golf cart rule possible and the neighborhood is up in arms about this “extreme” golf carting. Whoops! We are just having fun.
I have noiced some residents complain about the Seadoo although I can assure you we are very savvy in the ways of maritime laws and boating safety. We aren’t coming anywhere near swimmers or other craft.
Many of you know I have all but stopped any kind of drinking. It just isn’t good for my heart. I’ll have a beer now and again or a glass of wine but that is it.
Anyhow, I love getting chewed out about my golf cart on the beach ( I just use it to load in and load out) when the same person is standing on that very same public beach with an open container. In fact, this friend of mine became rather indignant when I pointed out that she was absolutely in violation of State and local laws and that the punishment of her current actions constitute a class IV misdemeanor. I went on to say that her punishment and infraction is considered worse by the law than me driving an unauthorized vehicle on the beach.
Her argument? Apples to Oranges. Uh, okay….
I wanted to tell her that this argument was the true definition of hypocrisy. I refrained because I have known her since college. They are advocates. I know her comments stem from other residents and she simply had the decency to tell me to my face.
The drinking in my neighborhood is every bit as severe as my college days. This is what they do.
I’m not calling the cops on anyone. I don’t have a problem with it. I’ll bet there are residents who don’t appreciate their drinking either so this behavior will be an ongoing battle till someone complains and summonses are issued.
I know two wrongs don’t make a right.
On a lighter note I am on the news for the next month boasting about our beaches; yes it will be online and yes I am on the dunes in a sportcoat, tie and barefeet. Sheesh.
The surf is up today. I wish I could be surfing with my little girl right now. Don’t forget your springsuit. The water is slightly chilly.
I’ll see you on the beach.
Peace,
Bobby

Glimpses

Oh wow. We had our first glimpses of summertime this weekend. 2 days of 79-80 degree weather and you are in business!!!
I woke up REALLY early Saturday morning and worked on a soffet that hangs over the bar between my kitchen and dining room. I had to tear down the board, install another and run wires for three pendant lights. Then of course I had to paint it a couple of times and then install the lights.
Piece of cake!!! Looks great. I managed to wash and wax my truck in between paint coats!!! Sweet!!!
Later Saturday night my brother-in-law came over with another friend of mine and we did some extreme golf cart riding on the beach. HOLY S**T!!! At one point we got it stuck halfway over a phone pole on top of a dune. We even managed to take the thing down a flight of steps. Schweet!!!! I think we concluded the evening right around 2am. We were “out of control” as my wife would say…
Sunday we had band practice and I must confess this project is coming along very nicely. The buzz about our project is growing exponentially. I think folks are interested to see what we can really do. We are going to blow the stage up baby!!!!!
I took Nurse ratchet for a run later Sunday afternoon and then we carted over to the water and enjoyed dinner outside.
I want to take this opportunity to thank you Aussies for taking fairly good care of the summer. I appreciate you sending me a sneak preview this weekend.
I promise you it will be in good hands once it is completely here…
Peace be with you,
Bobby
One of the paths back to the neighborhood. I run by this all the time…Taken January of 2009.
