Not sick but I have heard that excuse (And it turns out to be a lie) more than you ever care to know. I generally don’t do sick. I may get sick but the whole surrounding issue doesn’t suit me at all so I just don’t do it…

Most of the time I have found other’s don’t care, but I will say. A lot of people have been very good, kind and helpful with Jim. The difference is that he is truly sick and does things anyway or as much as he can. People just do things not because we ask, but because they want too, and that is a good thing. They are the ones you want in your world.

Ros - Jim is legitimate in terms of his sickness. No doubt. I can also 100% guarantee he wishes he wasn’t ill. Horrible. My conversation speaks to the *fake* sick people.

I couldn’t go to work for the seven weeks I was in the hospital after having my heart attack and subsequent six bypasses. I had to tell my employees I was sick and couldn’t come in. And I was. In fact I thought I had died, it took seven days before I wish I had.

It sounds like you had a temporary setback.

I know someone that uses the sick excuse too. For 4 years? But only when asked why they still dont have a job. Suddenly feeling better for nights on the town tho!
